Our Team

Alexa Wynia

Manager

Hello, Alexa here! I began working full-time at Level Pup in October of 2022.  More recently, I wanted to further my passion for the pets and company, so I made the step of becoming manager in August of 2023 and I genuinely wouldn’t have it any other way! A little bit about myself: I was raised in Cloverdale, IN, a very small and rural town. Growing up I have always had an unconditional love for any and all animals that my parents did not relate to. Because of this I was always very limited on childhood pets, therefore I would find any excuse to pet sit for others! Some of my favorite hobbies would include adventuring and finding new hiking spots, painting, and (as cliche as it sounds) spending time with the ones I love most. From a young age I have been assisting in taking care of family friend’s pups, cats, etc. and I could not be any more excited about doing it as a career! I take pride in my work, and my goal is to make sure your pup and any other furry, scaly, or even feathery friends are happy and healthy. As well as making sure your time away from your pet babies is as stress free as possible. :)”

“Furthermore, I take pride in my ability to work with and gain the trust of reactive and/or very shy or scared pups. I’m not a professional trainer by any means, but I do have a few years of first-hand experience under my belt! If you’re worried that your pup may be “too much” to have a walker or in-home sitter, please don’t hesitate to reach out and see if we can make it work! As we humans say, “Nobody’s perfect,” so why should we expect our pets to be?!”

About my little family: When my partner and I eventually moved in together, we brought along our sweet black lab, Shyla girl. It was just us three for a while in a studio apartment and we were making plans to upgrade apartments. One day while grocery shopping, we were approached by someone in the parking lot desperately trying to hand off a litter of puppies. I’m happy to say that my partner is as loving of animals as me, because we left our “grocery shopping” trip with a Great Pyrenees puppy and lots of additional puppy supplies! Our two pups are now the absolute best of friends, and have grown up quite a bit together. In addition to our dogs, we also care for a very docile Kenyan Sand Boa, which we’ve named Craig. ”

“When I learned about this job, I thought it was too good to be true, I knew it was the perfect job for me. I had also come from a very large corporate job so I am ecstatic to be supporting a small, woman-owned, business in Bloomington, especially Shannon’s! I truly enjoy helping people feel comforted knowing their pet is being taken care of, walked, or even taken on a fun field trip!”

Rachel Morrison

“Hello, my name is Rachel! I am a transfer student and started my first semester at IU in the fall of 2022. I major in Social Work and minor in Animal Behavior. I got into the BSW program! My plan is to eventually become a Veterinary Social Worker. I had a challenging upbringing and I want to use that to help others. Animals are what make me happy and I just love being able to be there for them.”

“I have had a love for animals ever since I was a child. I grew up having dogs and cats and they were my pride and joy. My aunt volunteered at Pet Refuge in South Bend, IN and as a child I would go to camps and help out! I worked at Kryder Kritter Hotel in Granger, IN over a year and a half until I moved here. It truly showed me that I wanted to work with animals. I learned and grew so much as a person from working there. I have also been doing dog sitting ever since I got my license. Animals have always been my passion and I cannot wait to continue working with them! :)”

Finley Snyder

“Hello! My name is Finley and I started working at Level Pup in the Fall of 2022! I have always loved animals my whole life, even though I’m allergic to cats and dogs. I was never able to have a pet as a kid because my dad is more allergic than me! Because of this, I would try to cat-sit and dog-sit my friends’ animals when they went out of town! I’m from Granger, Indiana and I’m starting my junior year here at IU! Before here, I was working at Kryder Kritter Hotel back in Granger, where I was first realized how much I adore animals and caring for them. I worked there for about a year and a half until moving down here to Bloomington full time! Back at home, I have two cats that we rescued in November 2022, and they are who I miss the most! Miso is my kitty and Goose is my sister’s! Once I got them I realized how much I absolutely adore cats! So I am always very excited to see some cat clients on my schedule!”

“I’m super excited about this job and I can’t wait to meet and care for every new the pup or kitty client!”

Nick Jones

“Hi! I started working here at Level Pup in the fall of 2023. There are very few things on earth that I enjoy more than video games and skateboarding, but animals are definitely one of them. Growing up, I was constantly around animals. Whether it was at my house taking care of and playing with my many dogs, or at my grandma’s feeding and riding her horses, I have always gotten so much joy tending to pets! I even helped my mom watch other people’s fur children on occasion after I got home from school. I plan on working full time at Level Pup, devoting my all into ensuring your pets endure the quality care they deserve while under our supervision.”

“A little about my life; I currently reside in Elletsville with my wonderful girlfriend, and two dogs of our own, Shyla (our black lab) and Bear (our great pyrenees). I even have a little reptile friend named Craig, and he is a Kenyan Sand Boa! They are my life, and cannot express how deeply I care for all four of them. If I am not spending time with them, you could catch me enjoying some alone time riding my skateboard or playing video games with friends. Also, I have always loved the outdoors. Going out for a hike or even a five-minute walk has always relaxed me substantially! It’s a simple life, but that is all I need to keep me happy and motivated!”

Camryn Snyder

“Hi! I’m Camryn, and I just recently joined the Level Pup team when I moved down to Bloomington for my freshman year at IU! I’m from Granger IN. Before I made the move I worked at Kryder Kritter Hotel, a boarding facility for all pets. After working there for over a year and a half I knew I needed another job with animals! I love caring for all kinds of pets and working there made me learn so much! I wasn’t able to have any animals of my own until 2022 when my family rescued 2 cats, Goose and Miso! After having to leave my kittys when I came here for college, I am able to understand how hard it is to leave your pets behind for any amount of time. I’m so excited to be able to continue working with animals and giving them the care they need this their owners are away! :)”

Shannon Dugan, Owner

“Hi, I’m Shannon Dugan, the owner of Level Pup. ”

“I’m so proud of how far Level Pup has come over the years, and thrilled to have such capable, caring staff on my team! I ran things myself for several years, working night and day with all of our fantastic clients to give them the very best care for their pets. A couple years ago now, I decided to take the leap of hiring an employee. An eventually another, and more as needed, to keep up with demand and allow myself to have a life outside of work. One stellar employee, Alexa, was promoted to manager in 2022 and has since been the go-to person for client communications and scheduling, as well as helping out our other staff day to day. These days I’m able to take a backseat and watch them shine, though I do take appointments from time to time to visit with my favorite fur-clients!”

“I moved to Bloomington in August 2018 after my partner at the time got a job down at Crane.  We moved from Ohio, where I had grown up and also studied Animal Sciences at The Ohio State University. I currently am a bit nomadic in where I live as I travel full time with my boys BoJack and Dundie, but Bloomington will always be my home!”

“Since 2015, I’ve been involved in the pet care industry. I felt satisfied working in boarding facilities and daycares over the years, learning the ins-and-outs of the industry as well as collecting valuable experience. In 2018, I realized that there was only so much I could do as an employee of other facilities. I wanted to do so much more. So I decided to branch out on my own and found Level Pup.”

“I worked several years at Pet Palace as a Shift Lead, an attendant at Wag-On-Inn, and an attendant at Whitehall Animal Country Club. In all of these places, I have been constantly been exposed to cats and dogs, memorizing their behavior, but also learning how each individual functions differently. I’ve monitored (refereed!) large groups of dogs, administered hundreds of medications, and am still learning more every day to provide the best care.”

“A little about me outside of work– I crave change and new experiences. I love to go on adventures, explore, and meet new people. I am an introvert, however, so often I go on solo adventures or pursue activities on my own. Honestly, I love to do a little bit of everything. I journal, paint, hike, work with my furry friends, grow my business, keep up with old friends, and even things like play video games, watch Netflix, and enjoy a glass of wine.”
